Toronto Engagement PhotographY

Your love story in photographs

Toronto engagement photography documents the beginning of a shared life. As an engagement photographer in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area, I photograph couples with a lifestyle and photojournalistic approach centred on your connection. Engagement photography creates space to preserve this chapter of your relationship in a way that truthfully tells your love story.

Why Couples Invest in Engagement Photography

1

Engagement Photography Marks A Chapter in Your Relationship

Relationships evolve over time. Some couples are newly engaged, while others have spent years building a life together. Toronto engagement photography creates a meaningful way to acknowledge this chapter before the next one unfolds.

2

Engagement Photography Gives You a Break From Wedding Planning

Daily responsibilities and wedding planning can make it difficult to pause and appreciate the relationship itself. Engagement photography offers that opportunity. An engagement photoshoot creates intentional time to spend together. As a result, the experience feels less like a production and more like a relaxed, meaningful date.

3

An Engagement Photographer Can Photograph Couples at Any Stage

Many couples choose an engagement photographer to document their relationship as it exists today. Toronto engagement photography can also include a photo session for couples at any chapter of a relationship. Whether a couple is dating, newly engaged, married, or celebrating an anniversary, engagement photos or couples photos can capture the relationship with authenticity.

4

Engagement Photos Shape the Visual Story of Your Wedding

Engagement photos allow couples to introduce their love story to guests in a thoughtful way. Many couples use engagement photos for save-the-dates, wedding websites, invitations, and digital announcements. During the celebration itself, engagement photos often become part of the wedding décor. Couples display framed images at the venue entrance, beside guest books or seating charts, and across reception tables. As a result, engagement photography becomes woven into your wedding celebration.

Video Documentation

BTS & B-roll For Content Creation

Alongside still photography, short-form video can be captured as part of visual storytelling and content creation. This footage documents movement, process, and in-between moments that support images. When paired with stills, video provides added context and helps form a more complete narrative.

Engagement Photography FAQ

Planning & Preparing for Your Engagement Photoshoot

Sooner is always better, especially if you have a specific season or date in mind. Engagement sessions in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area book in advance, particularly during specific seasons such as fall. That said, I occasionally have availability for last-minute bookings so I encourage you to reach out.

Once you book your lifestyle photoshoot with me, you will receive a detailed preparation guide. The guide outlines clear steps to help everyone participating in the session feel confident, including pets. Additionally, it includes guidance on what to wear for engagement photos with thoughtful styling recommendations.

Yes. Many couples choose to combine proposal photography and engagement photography within the same session. Proposal photography requires thoughtful planning to ensure the moment unfolds naturally. Because preparation is essential, a proposal photoshoot cannot be arranged at the last minute. Couples searching for a Toronto proposal photographer should reach out in advance so the proposal can be documented seamlessly.

I will give you gentle guidance and direct you into natural poses throughout your photoshoot. You will receive suggestions on where and how to sit, stand, and place your hands. I will also give you various prompts to help you feel at ease in front of the camera. You will never be asked to do anything that feels forced or uncomfortable.

Feel free to share any ideas or inspiration you have with me. I cannot promise that I can create exactly what you are envisioning but I will try my best. If there is anything I am unable to do I will let you know clearly, as I don’t want you to have expectations I cannot meet.

Lifestyle photography is meant to reflect you and your life. You’re encouraged to choose a meaningful location for your outdoor pictures. If guidance is needed, once you book, you’ll receive a curated location guide featuring outdoor settings across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area that I’ve photographed previously. As a lifestyle photographer serving the GTHA, I travel throughout various regions. My pricing includes a set travel radius based on kilometres, with the option to extend distance if needed.

As an experienced lifestyle photographer in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area, I photograph at various times of day. However, the ideal time for outdoor photography is during golden hour. Golden hour occurs shortly after sunrise or a few hours before sunset. During this window, the sun sits lower in the sky, which creates soft, warm light and reduces harsh contrast. Additionally, early mornings often mean less crowd in parks and fewer distractions. As a result, your lifestyle photoshoot feels relaxed.

I recommend avoiding midday whenever possible. Bright overhead sun creates strong shadows, causes squinting, and limits flattering angles. On overcast days, however, we gain flexibility. Clouds diffuse sunlight evenly, which produces soft and flattering lifestyle photos.

The best time for in-home lifestyle photography is anytime during the day before the evening. This way we can make use of the beautiful natural light coming into your home.

I can photograph in moderate rain or snow when conditions allow. However, for outdoor photoshoots, clients must have an indoor or covered backup location in case weather conditions pose a safety risk. Clients may also reschedule once without additional charges. My contract outlines full details regarding rescheduling and weather policies, and we review these together before booking.

Yes. You can combine both in-home and outdoor settings within the same lifestyle photoshoot. If you would like images taken indoors and outdoors, we can begin inside your home and then move outside to your front or backyard, or to a nearby park.

Lifestyle photoshoots typically take place in your home or outdoors across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area. However, if you prefer a rented studio, I can coordinate the booking details while you would be responsible for the studio rental payment.

My turnaround time varies depending on the time of year and overall workload. You will be provided with an estimated delivery timeframe when booking.

We will have a phone consultation before booking to get to know one another and ensure we are aligned on expectations. If you prefer to meet face-to-face, we can also arrange a video call beforehand.

Start by reaching out through my contact form with details about your shoot and what you’re interested in. I’ll follow up and guide you through the booking process. You can also review my investment page to explore pricing and understand what to expect beforehand.

  • I was referred to Henna by a family member.

Working with her was great! The shoot was very easy going and very comfortable. Henna is detail oriented and very easy to work with.

Looking back at my photos now, what I love the most are the vibrant colours and all the details.
